A Tisket, A Tasket

A Longaberger basket.

Longanberger Headquarters

Just one of the many interesting sights you can see in Ohio – the headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company.

Yes, this is a real, honest-to-goodness building.

  1. At first I thought you were just kidding about it being the actual building…lol. I love their baskets but only have a couple. My sister has tons of them. And yes Pseudo is a pineapple!

  2. It’s important to think ahead. You can’t really tell in this picture, but the handle is in desperate need of a paint job. Just how WOULD you paint the handles? Suspend a painter by helicopter? From a really HUGE crane (and it really is huge)? How much would that cost? Apparently, a lot! I think they should have designed it so the handles swing down like on a real pic-a-nic basket!

  3. Yep – it’s in OH – I should know, I live here. And when you first see it it’s amazing how huge it is and it truly looks like a basket, not a building. They have a whole town right down the road in Dresden that sells all sorts of accessories – it’s quite the market. I have collected many over my life but they’re getting too pricey for me now. Even though you can never have enough baskets… 🙂
