I have been blogging for two years. Two years.
You’d think I’d have more readers.
Well, I think I can say that this is one of those cases where quality is far more important than quantity, because I have the best readers in the blogosphere. If they’re not exactly numerous, well – more people should be so discerning.
(Actually, I have a great many readers – approximately 3,000 people visit my blog on a monthly basis, looking mostly for recipes and, more recently, photographs – I just don’t have that many commenters. But those that do are the most wonderful, loyal people I’ve ever met.)
I’ve mentioned before that I don’t consider myself a “writer” nor do I have aspirations of being the next Dooce (although I will take this moment to express just the tiniest bit of envy of this particular blogger). I don’t fit into any particular blogging “category” (the name of this blog says it all), and I’m not sure I have this “voice” that many other bloggers talk about. I’m just a middle-aged woman who is fortunate enough to have an incredible husband, kids I love more than life itself, the cutest grandson in the Western hemisphere, a talent for cooking and a group of warm, witty, intelligent bloggy friends willing to share it all with me.
Who could possibly ask for more?
Well, besides a Nikon D90 with a macro lens and a garden full of crocus bulbs…
