RTT: The All-Natural NaBloPoMo Edition

Well, here it is Tuesday again, and for once I wish it were still Monday. But I’m still putting up the purple button and linking back to Keely, Proprietress Of All Things Random.


It’s the first day of June, so a new header and color scheme is up at the Sushi Bar.  I’m especially pleased with my header, because it is the first one using a photo I took myself rather than stock photography.  It’s a macro shot of one of the blooms on the sage that is taking over the side of my house in my herb garden; I like it because it’s a flower, but food related.  Well, and it’s pretty.

You’ll also see some other minor changes. I’ve moved the blogrolls to a page of it’s own at the top.  It was simply getting out of hand and consuming my sidebar. There’s also a form on the Contact Me page, and I’ve added a more prominent RSS feed to my sidebar so visitors don’t have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page if they wish to subscribe to my blog.  There’s also a little social bookmarking toolbar at the end of the bottom of each post now, if you should wish to share any of my drivel.

I’m nothing if not a cockeyed optimist.


I read Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon this past week, as a follow-up to some research I’ve been doing.  The result?  I am absolutely appalled at the Standard American Diet.  And we are no exception – I have always made a conscious effort to stay away from the processed crap at the grocery store, but even we are eating much more poorly than we should.

So, this weekend was a saga of buying a freezer and hunting down a local source of 100% grass-fed, pastured beef – which was much easier than I ever expected.  But rather than bore you with that (I plan to do that sometime next week), let’s just suffice to say that I also made a foray into the land of granola-crunchers local health food store, and this morning I am eating 100% organic yogurt made from whole, un-homogenized milk mixed with some raw honey and flaxseed oil for breakfast.

I’m sure I’ll get used to the flavor.  Gawd, I hope I get used to the flavor…


As you may have discerned from my title, I am going to participate in NaBloPoMo this month, which basically means I am going to post every single day for the month of June.  It also basically means you’re going to see a lot of photos if you mosey on over here on the weekends.  I did this last year in July, so I have some idea of what I’m getting myself in to for a change.


And what would a Random Tuesday Thoughts post be without some random cuteness?
